Well, I was going to write a new journal entry when I finally (albeit sluggishly) reached 5,000 page views. But upon receiving my first Daily Deviation, this number has been surpassed much faster than I could have imagined, and now I am steadily chugging along to 6,000.

I logged on this afternoon to see about oh, 800 something messages in my inbox and I had to do a few double takes. I can't say I've ever had more than 10 or 12 messages at a time (not counting the submissions of those I'm watching, which upon returning from a week long vacation will fill my inbox with about 200 or so new pretty pictures for me to look at). I was actually really confused. I figured something must have happened, and I began frantically reading the at-the-time 60 comments and found out I had received a DD from a wonderful lady who ed the piece a couple days ago. I actually started to cry.

'No Escape' is actually my favorite piece, out of the hundreds I have created. The meanings behind it reach back about two years into my past at an event that altered my life more substantially than any event thus far. It would be one thing to share my side of the story, but I find it so much more interesting to see how it affects all of you. (Though if you really want to know the meaning behind it, it would be quite easy to infer from the artist comments. Sneaky, I know.)

I would like to share a little bit of writing I did before I took the picture, to kind of sum up my thoughts on the situation. Nothing fancy, but I hope maybe it adds a different angle to what you see.


White and Black and Blue --
